Parents Step Ahead Launches Newly Redesigned Website

Parent-education organization site offers tools for engaging the community

 

Dallas, TX — Sept. 6, 2011 — Parents Step Ahead (Padres un Paso Adelante), a Dallas-based nonprofit parent-education organization, has launched its newly redesigned website, www.parentsstepahead.org, which increases opportunities for interaction with site visitors interested in community needs and the organization’s educational programs and parent events.

New features that allow visitors to engage more with the organization and stay in touch with Parent Step Ahead updates include:

  • A daily blog with space for reader comment
  • Links to the organization’s Facebook page, YouTube channel, and other social-media outlets
  • An RSS feed, where visitors can download website updates and load them to online readers
  • More complete information about the organization’s vision and events
  • An online donations tool

“As we continue to expand our school-based parent-education programs, we needed a site that would allow us to do more outreach to the community and engage in dialogue with educators and parents,” said Lupita Colmenero, publisher of El Hispano News and founder of Parents Step Ahead. “We also wanted to better explain our mission and programs to potential funders. Our new site is designed to tell the Parents Step Ahead story in an engaging way.”

Upcoming additions include a Spanish translation of the website and a photo and video gallery.

The organization invites suggestions and comments through the blog or its contact page at www.parentsstepahead.org/contact. The new site was designed by Dallas-based web design firm VisuallyVerbal Marketing.
