Dallas, TX, June 6, 2012 – Parents Step Ahead will be partnering with Deloitte at their Dallas office on Friday, June 8, 2012 for Deloitte’s International IMPACT Day. This partnership will lead the way to making Parents Step Ahead a sustainable parental involvement advocate within the community.

IMPACT Day is an opportunity for Deloitte people to put their passion, determination, and skills to use for the benefit of their communities—leaving behind their laptops, conferences calls, and emails to make a difference in the communities they serve. Deloitte teams across the world dedicate this time to offer their invaluable talent and expertise to non-profits and celebrate Deloitte’s commitment to community investment.

On this day of service, a team of Deloitte employees are donating their time to work with the Parents Step Ahead staff and the Board of Directors to discuss and create a strategic plan for the growth and sustainability of Parents Step Ahead programs and initiatives. “As a small non-profit with huge dreams we are ecstatic for the opportunity to build a relationship with Deloitte and use their expertise to discuss ways for us to grow,” affirmed Lupita Colmenero, Chair and Founder of Parents Step Ahead. “Corporate community involvement has been a crucial part of our success and with Deloitte’s counsel I’m sure we will be able to continue Parents Step Ahead’s mission for many more years to come.”

About Parents Step Ahead
Parents Step Ahead is a 501-C3 nonprofit organization with a mission “to recognize, educate, enable and empower parents to take a proactive role in the educational and personal development of their children.” The organization works in partnership with corporations and community organizations to offer a series of programs for parents to demonstrate the importance of parental involvement. Programs are free and include dinner, childcare, and the raffle of prizes and culminate with the raffle of a desktop computer.
