Dallas, TX – December 5, 2014 – Parents Step Ahead announces Parents Step Ahead Board of Director, Betty R. Uribe of California Bank & Trust and Chuck Bowman of Amegy Bank of Texas, as co-chairs for the 9th annual “Parent of the Year” Awards Ceremony.
Since 2006, Parents Step Ahead has honored “Parents of the Year” with this celebration. During the event, parents are rewarded for their contributions to their children’s educational and personal development with a dinner and a special awards ceremony.
Dr. Betty R. Uribe oversees and manages the Commercial, Personal and SBA Lending Group for the Greater Southern California Division of California Bank & Trust. She has been recognized as one of the most prominent Latinas in L.A., Top 25 National Corporate Elite by Hispanic Business Magazine, and featured as a top financial services expert in print and television media. As an international and bilingual speaker, Betty has lectured in Asia, Canada, and the Americas, and her work has been published in two continents.

Chuck Bowman oversees the Business Banking Group. Additional responsibilities include management of the branch banking centers and SBA Lending, which includes nearly 800 employees in the greater Houston, Dallas and San Antonio metropolitan area. Before joining Amegy, he held the position of Senior Credit Relationship Officer in the Small Business Financial Services at JPMorgan Chase Bank, where he helped establish the business banking platform.

The 2014 “Parent of the Year” Awards ceremony will be Friday, December 5, 2014 at the Wyndham Hotel Dallas Love Field, 3300 W. Mockingbird Lane Dallas, TX 75235, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Five parents from Richardson, Dallas, Grapevine and Irving Independent School Districts, will be recognized as the “Parent of the Year” along with a grandparent and three school administrators from Irving ISD to be recognized as “Advocates of the Year.”
